Car key worn down, is it repairable?
I recently bought a second hand car, and it still has the original key from release. The ends and edges are slightly worn down and tapered, but the key still works.
However I’m concerned it will eventually wear down and not work at all, is this possible? Also can a locksmith or a key cutter repair the key so it will be smooth again?
I know I could get a new key cut, but this is a rare key with a logo in the centre. Any new key cut would be lacking this detail and it’d not be as nice. 
What car is it? Youd be suprised how long some companies use the same key blank. The older ones are easier to cut, ignitions are less fussy, so stores like to stock some older keys depending on popularity. For example many older trucks are still around.
