Unrolling a poster?
I’ve had a poster (unmounted) in a cylendrical roll for over a year, and now I want to stick it up in my lounge room. The problem is the poster keeps curling back into a roll when I hang it.
Other than stick gum all over the edges or other obvious methods that would make it look ugly, does anybody else have a better idea?
Here are a few method’s i have tried out myself.
1) Easy/lazy method: Rolling it on the reverse side for about 15 secs and release it usually does the trick.
2) Medium/Patient method: Laying the poster out on a clean table and place some heavy books over it and leave it for a few hours, for better results a day or so. (Best to do it just before u go to bed so it wont get in the way if u need to use the table to do other stuff during the day. Then in the morning when u wake up remove the objects and the poster should be flat.
3) Hard/Perfectionist method: Laying the poster out on the clean table (face side down) and using an iron on low heat with a dry large cloth/towel on top gently iron over it. Do not use a Stream iron though!!! and remember low heat.
